A new exports industry of standardized natural extracts has been developed in India due to his persistent efforts.
No stranger to accolades, Dr. Majeed received numerous prestigious awards and honors for his remarkable contribution to the nutraceutical industry. He researched and scientifically validated the values of medicinal plants which are not mentioned in the Ayurvedic texts. For instance, Tetrahydrocurcuminoids (C3 Reduct®) is a product derived from turmeric. The novelty behind Tetrahydrocurcuminoids is that although it is from turmeric with several of its beneficial properties, it is without the characteristic yellow color. It can be used as a cosmeceutical for its potent skin brightening properties as well as a nutraceutical for its antioxidant potential. Curcumin C3 Complex®, Gugulipid®, BioPerine®, Citrin®, and Saberry® are some other innovative products which Sami markets globally.
On receiving the award Dr. Muhammed Majeed, Founder and Chairman, Sami-Sabinsa Group said, “I am truly honored to receive this prestigious award. This gives me the inspiration to bring our society close to the significance of Ayurveda, an alternative to conventional medicine. I am glad that Indians have already garnered the spirit of Ayurveda and in the years to come I am sure our research will develop more quintessential medicines that would make our society a healthier abode for generations to come.”
